BAC at Imbonini Helistop, Ballito

The new hangar and helipad in Ballito is the home of BAC Aviation’s Durban maintenance division and a satellite base for BAC Helicopter’s Training Academy and Charter operations. The facility is ideally situated in the secure Imbonini Park at Shaka’s Head, Ballito.

The Helistop falls within King Shaka’s CTR, in close proximity to Virginia Airport and flying time to the GFA training area is 5 minutes.  Positioned on a natural platform with green-zone servitudes to the north, west and south, the servitudes are designated no-build areas and form natural flight paths in and out of the Imbonini base.

The hangar is clean and modern with great natural lighting and clever external storage rooms.  With classrooms and offices built into the back wall, the new satellite base ticks all the right boxes.
